Interstate Insomnia

Driving the interstate longer than most
Can’t I do something outside thoughts provoke

Sitting is nothing yet tiresome still
I would time travel for this trip to kill

Rest the engine if I could I might
Run my own horses all through the night

Observed glistening fields tempt this recurring rumination
Just get me off-road to accomplish my doubtful aspirations

No, I must focus again, guzzle caffeine, and continue to pine
For that which will awaken my mind till the next interstate sign
