One year, 2014 I think
I kept a Civil War style journal
Short, to the point, no great description
Capturing overall feels of a day and weather

Today I think back to that style
As I notice once again the change
In weather from yesterday to this day
Night and day, if you ask me my opinion

Yesterday was cold and windy
In the morning, I could not keep lit
A hickory fire starter, but afternoon
Welcomed fire swooning till late night

Today is not too warm or too cool
And there’s no swarm of wind at all
Still and silent, save for the other sounds of
Kids playing, music blaring, conversations carrying
