MicroPoem 118

Ever since I was a teenager, I liked to swap the first one or two letters of two words to make funny or odd new phrases. These switches might not make legitimate words but phonetically, it works out somehow.

Example: Pickle Soup –> Sickle Poup (Poop)

I know that sounds gross, although it can be funny. I have many more examples like this, but I’d like to point out an even greater joy: when the swap works out perfectly, making sense and actual words!

Example: Take a Shower —> Shake a Tower

I know these aren’t technically MicroPoems, but they are, to me, exercises in creativity, which help me form poems and MicroPoems. So, I’ll drop some more examples in the coming days for fun.

How about you? What words could you swap that make funny turns of phrase? Could you find switches that create actual words and interesting phrases?
