Where does a bird fly
When there’s no sky
And when the eyes
Can’t see outside?
Flying from this beam,
Next to that other beam,
To me, it quite nearly seems
We need a ladder high enough
— To where at least we’d crash
Into the warm water with a splash
Of this indoor pool yet to be trashed
From this kid’s birthday party —
To help a bird
Calm its nerves,
Since this is absurd.
