Last year, I read Leadership Without Easy Answers by Ronald A. Heifetz. The following poem was part of me processing the main thrust of the book: adaptive change. There’s so much more I could write, but for me, this suffices for now.
“Adaptive Work”
It’s sad to say,
But come what may,
This won’t work with
Someone in the way.
I know who it is;
You know who it is.
Will they throw a fit
Or admit to the crisis?
A problem in the business,
An issue in the relationships,
Like being at the bottom of a pit,
Let’s focus our eyes out of the abyss.
I’m the one who caused a slump;
You too contributed to this dump.
Working together, we’ll start now with
Shared value and soon mutual triumph!
